Holiday travellers in Singapore take weeks to decide. They browse itineraries, compare tour packages singapore across operators, about 880 searches a month, and wait for the right dates or a good deal before committing. Most visitors to a tour operator's website leave without booking, and many book later with whichever operator stays on their mind.
This operator ran group tours to Japan, Korea and Europe, with an average booking worth about S$2,800. It spent S$5,000 a month on display ads shown to a broad travel audience and one generic remarketing campaign. The ads brought in about 9 bookings a month at S$556 each, banners showed the company logo and a stock beach photo, and visitors who had viewed a specific tour never saw that tour again. The operator also had no way to tell which tours people had looked at, so every visitor received the same generic message.

We tracked bookings, deposits and itinerary downloads, then built remarketing audiences by destination, tour viewed and how far visitors got through the booking steps.
A visitor who read the Hokkaido winter itinerary twice is very different from someone who glanced at the homepage. Separate audiences let each get the right message. It also showed the sales team which tours each lead had looked at, so follow-up calls started with the right itinerary.
We designed banner sets for each destination and season with real tour photos, the departure month, the number of days and a clear starting price.
Specific, honest banners stood out against generic travel ads, and showing the price upfront filtered out people who were only dreaming. Seasonal banners also matched what travellers were actually planning, such as cherry blossoms in spring and ski trips in winter.
We showed visitors the exact tours they had viewed, with reminders as seats filled and early-bird deadlines approached, and added YouTube remarketing with short destination clips.
Travellers often wait for a nudge. Reminding them about the tour they liked, with a real reason to act, brought many back to finish booking. Seat reminders were only used when seats were genuinely limited, which kept them honest and effective.
We replaced the broad travel audience with custom segments built from past bookers and people researching the operator's destinations, and excluded recent bookers.
Reaching people who resembled past customers cost less per booking than showing ads to everyone interested in travel. Excluding recent bookers also stopped the budget being spent on people who had already paid their deposits.
We moved budget ahead of school holidays and year-end travel, set frequency caps so nobody saw the same banner too often, and paused tours that had sold out.
Spending ahead of booking peaks reached travellers while they were deciding. Caps kept remarketing helpful rather than annoying. Pausing sold-out tours also stopped the operator paying for clicks it could not convert into bookings.
Six months in, display and remarketing ads brought in 19 bookings a month instead of 9, worth S$53,200 a month. Spend rose to S$6,500, but each booking cost S$342 instead of S$556, and return on ad spend grew from 5.0× to 8.2×. Itinerary downloads nearly tripled, giving the sales team many more warm leads to follow up. The operator now plans its banners alongside each new tour launch, so remarketing is ready from the day a tour opens for booking. The sales team also reported that leads from remarketing arrived better informed and closed faster.

A generic remarketing banner reminds visitors you exist. Showing them the exact tour they viewed, with a reason to book now, brings them back.
Starting prices and departure months on the banner filtered out casual browsers and attracted travellers who were ready to plan.
